Dallas Fashion Coach, Julie Bartlett of Colour IQ, dares you to be BOLD this Fall!
What’s the ‘IT’ colour this fall? BOLD! Let go of the bright colors and breezy clothing that we flaunted during the spring and summer. It is time to boldly show the world who is boss this upcoming season with red, burgundy, purple, and black.
Prints on prints on prints! There is a proper way to pair prints together that will reflect your style and won’t put you on our “Don’t” radar. Androgynous plaids and rebel checks are some of the prints that are making a comeback this fall. But these are not your schoolgirl looks. We like Designer AG Adriano Goldschmied’s plaid jeans. Look for Florals cut in velvet or appliqued on a solid background will have a 3D effect this Fall.
Don’t shy away from camouflage. If used tastefully, camouflage can look very fashion forward. Remember this: too much camouflage is not a good thing– keep it minimal. Silky camouflage sweatshirts are in this fall and can be paired with a pencil skirt to dress it up or jeans to keep it casual.
How to stack the prints:
- Mix prints that are in the same colour palette, such as a black/red stripe pant with black/red floral top.
- If you like head-to-toe either wear a softer print or wear a solid colour jacket with a strong print.
- Always make sure the size of the print is proportionate to your body frame.
Chanel popularized the scandalous Menswear trend in the 1920s, and now almost one hundred years later women are again embracing menswear as their own – but on a greater scale. Change up your boyfriend jean or cardigan for the men’s coat. Designers Alexander Wang and Stella McCartney have embraced the trend and shown the world that women can wear men’s coats, while looking feminine and chic.
If you prefer a more subtle menswear statement simply incorporate fabrics such as pinstripes, oxfords, tweeds, hounds tooth or accessories such as watches, and cuff links.
Do you love boots? Then, Moto Boots are a must. Fabulous women know that delicate style has its place – but boots rock our wild side!
