With summer temps in the triple digits, it’s normal to toss off the dress pants & don less fabric hoping to stay cool. But there is such a thing as being too short, especially in the workplace. In fact, proper business attire should always cover more skin than it reveals. So, if more than two inches above the knee is exposed, then it’s not appropriate in a business environment. Naturally, that depends on your intentions regarding the business you really want to conduct.

Consider The Following

Within the social setting of say, a casual party, a girl’s fun evening, a first date…She needs to sit…bend down to pick something up from the floor…or lean on a counter without having the world seeing what should remain private: A pair of cute leggings & she can be actively involved in whatever fun event is being planned.

At a pool party or on the beach? Definitely! With a swimming suit, it’s adorable. The short skirt becomes a cover-up, worn before or after getting into the water.

And, those other public places? Not good for a wedding – complicates the Limbo. The mall? Think of the escalator or stair exposure. Ewww! Church? Banish the thought.

Are you emotionally secure enough to establish visual boundaries? If you have to ask if your dress is too short, it probably is. Listen to your fabulous internal voice of self-respect.  Your first impression is a lasting impression, so make sure the last impression does not include a visual of cottage cheese or sagging thighs by wearing the perfect length for you.
